Note from Kenn Holsten

Greetings! I’m excited about a lot of new work I’ve recently added to my virtual gallery. I’m sharing with you a few gems here and invite you to take a look at some of the other recent additions. I hope you have had a pleasant summer and look forward to staying in touch..

Featured Works

Maui by Lino Tagliapietra
I have just added a dozen or so great new Lino Tagliapietra pieces. I chose "Maui" to feature this month because I love both the color combination and the surface engraving. Maui is one of my favorite places to visit and this piece captures both the warm colors of the sunsets there and also the deep blue of the Pacific. Please take a look at the other new pieces the Maestro has created.

The Wave by David Bennett
As I shared last month, David Bennett has reinvented himself once again over the past year and is now creating large scale outdoor sculptures combining aluminum and glass. Featured here is "The Wave" photographed outside David’s winter home in Carefree, Arizona. For an additional view please visit this page.

Forest Green Seed Pod by Alex Bernstein
At a height of 20" this is one of Alex’s taller cast glass sculptures. This is a very elegant piece. The beautiful and intense shade of green seemingly growing out of the desert-colored base reminds me of Santa Fe in the spring when many types of bright green plant life spring out of the soil in a contrast that can shock the eye.

Aquamarine Pod by John Kiley
This Kiley piece is somewhat less complex than many of John’s recent works. I love the simplicity of the merging of the two bubbles of glass and the subtle combination of blue and teal. I often experience a sense of calm and balance while viewing a Kiley sculpture and this piece is no exception. Please click to see 4 more pieces just finished by John.

Wild Poppy Persian Pair by Dale Chihuly
Are you aware that many of Chihuly’s earlier Studio Editions are still available? This piece, "Wild Poppy Persian Pair," was created in 2011 and is one of my favorites. The colors, the form, the graceful combination of the two elements all add up to a "classic" Chihuly look! To view all 2011 and 2012 Studio Editions go here. Also, ask me about some Editions that are still available from previous years but not featured on my website.

I look forward to your comments and questions and hope you enjoy the remaining weeks of summer.
