Commissioned by the museum, artist Tom Patti created a site-line specific, high performance, architectural glass entrance wall that optimizes natural light with incandescent. Made using state of the art aerospace technology, the glass is structurally integrated within the entrance and measures approximately twenty feet long by ten feet high. A sparkling clear glass wall with randomly placed diffused ovoid shapes and lines of red throughout, the visually engaging entrance reveals itself to the pedestrian viewer as they enter through the doorway. Depending on direction of approach, the work transforms from transparent to translucent and from colorless to a spectral range of color. Interior shapes disappear and reappear.
