Dear Friends,
Thank you for the many congratulatory notes on the recent transition
of Holsten Galleries from a brick and mortar gallery in Stockbridge
to a virtual (internet only) gallery at www.holstengalleries.com!
We are busy revising and expanding the website and I anticipate that
this process will be ongoing for several weeks.
Please visit the site to see what we have accomplished to date:
Dale
Chihuly: Examples of all of Dale's major series: Chandeliers,
Persians, Seaforms, Baskets, Macchias, Cylinders, Venetian and Wall
Installations. Also 2009 Studio Editions and prints.
Jon
Kuhn: Examples of most of Jon's major series. Soon to be
added: large scale works and installations.
Lino
Tagliapietra: Lino's traveling museum exhibition, "Lino
Tagliapietra in Retrospect." All available works from this show which
originated at the Tacoma Museum of Glass and is currently at the Palm
Springs Museum of Art is now available on our website. Soon to be
added: works to be shown at SOFA-Chicago in November and other available
works.
William
Morris: We are pleased to represent all available inventory
of the works of William Morris and will soon have access to newly
released historical pieces from his archives.
I also want to clarify a few points which some of you have had questions
about:
- I am now living full-time in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with my wife
Christine Warren, where I am a private art dealer and consultant
and operate my virtual gallery.
- Holsten Galleries at this point exists solely as a virtual,
on line gallery. I do not have a physical gallery in Santa Fe
and at the moment I do not intend to open one. Most of the inventory
on my website is housed at the artists' studios and will be shipped
directly to the buyer (always on approval).
- Because my gallery no longer has the limitations of a physical
space, I am able to expand the number of artists that I represent.
Over time, my intention is to add other glass artists whom I have
not had the opportunity to represent in the past.
- The Lino Tagliapietra exhibition at SOFA-Chicago, November 4-8,
will be co-presented by Holsten Galleries and Schantz Galleries.
However, Holsten and Schantz now exist as independent businesses
since Jim Schantz and his wife Kim Saul purchased the Stockbridge
business on October 2, 2009.
I am very excited about this opportunity to continue to be involved
in the world of contemporary glass art in new and creative ways. You
will receive more updates as my new direction unfolds and evolves.
I wish you a pleasant autumn and look forward to staying in touch.
Warm regards,
Kenn
