Secondary Market
The Studio Glass Movement, as it is sometimes called, began in the 1960's, grew in the 1970's and 1980's, and has flourished in the past two decades. From time to time all or part of an existing collection of contemporary glass is available for purchase on the secondary market. Holsten Galleries is very discriminating as to which secondary market pieces we accept for resale. Our criteria include the relative importance of the artist, the quality of the individual work, the fairness of the price asked and the prerequisite that the piece must be in perfect condition. The gallery keeps the percentage it makes on these sales at a minimum in order to offer the best possible prices to our collectors.
