June 11 - 14, 2009
Featuring Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra and William Morris
Personal note from Kenn Holsten:
We are extremely excited that SOFA (Sculptural Objects and Function Art),
the premier exposition of contemporary American art works in glass, ceramic,
jewelry, wood and fiber, has scheduled their first ever art exposition in Santa Fe!
Many of you have attended SOFA shows in Chicago and New York.
This show has special personal meaning for me as my wife Christine and I have had a winter home in Santa Fe for many years.
If you have never visited Santa Fe,
I can best describe this city as the closest thing to visiting a foreign country within the United States.
With its multi-cultural and multi-ethnic history (Native American, Hispanic and Anglo primarily),
Santa Fe is a wonderful place to visit.
The art market here (over 100 galleries in a city of around 70,000!) is the third largest in the country
(after New York and Los Angeles). Santa Fe is also famous for its amazing blue skies and
mountains which have been a source of constant inspiration for artists for the past
century or more (think Georgia O'Keeffe). Finally, the variety of great restaurants, inns and spas here is absolutely amazing.
So, come to SOFA-Santa Fe in June! We are putting together three one-person exhibitions of the above three world class glass artists. |
