Greetings! I hope you and your families enjoyed the holiday weekend. This is one of the most beautiful times of the year in Santa Fe. The rivers are very active with the melt off from the mountains and the hiking is at its best with perfect temperatures. This month I have chosen some beautiful works to share with you by three of the all time greatest glass artists. I hope you enjoy viewing some outstanding art and look forward to your comments and questions. |

Fenice One of Lino’s most iconic series is his Fenice. Here Lino plays freely with color and form in a way he could not even have dreamed of in his early Murano factory days. This example typifies that spirit of playfulness and exuberance. |

Stone Vessels Unless you started collecting glass in the 1980’s you may not be familiar with one of William Morris’s early series, the Stone Vessels. Inspired by Stonehenge and other standing circles in England and elsewhere, these works prefigure in many ways his career-long fascination with primitive cultures. What differentiates this series from most of William’s later work is the fact they are vibrantly colorful. Here are three examples from this series and I’m happy to share other available works upon request. |

Australian Landscape #1 I first started showing the works of Marvin Lipofsky 40 years ago and continue to consider him as one of the most creative American glass artists. This particular example in many ways exemplifies his organic, freeform style. I particularly love the understated color palette of this piece. |
