Holsten Galleries newsletter

Note from Kenn Holsten

Season’s greetings! I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a new year full of all the best life has to offer. This month I am happy to be introducing a "new" GLASS artist. In reality, Toland Sand is not new at all as he has been creating beautiful glass art for some 30 years. I am very happy to begin representation of Toland’s work with this edition of Holsten Galleries News. The pieces you see here are typical of the highly sophisticated architectonic sculptures that Toland has been perfecting during all of those years. The mainstay of Sand’s work is optical crystal and he also incorporates dichroic coated glass, tinted adhesive and acrylic paints and calligraphy. The work tends to be deconstructivist and yet at the same time maintains a certain balance, harmony and even symmetry.

The second part of this newsletter presents a selection of pieces by some of my favorite glass artists. Most of these works are available although a few of them are intended only as representative examples of their creators.

I hope you enjoy seeing these works and invite you to click on any of the artists to see more of their work..
