Note from Kenn Holsten

Greetings! I hope that this newsletter finds you and your families well and enjoying the transition from spring to summer. This month I am featuring some spectacular available works from some of my favorite artists. Enjoy and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Featured Works

Silver Cave by Alex Bernstein, 7 x 8 x 9"

Silver Cave
by Alex Bernstein

North Carolina artists Alex Bernstein has recently been creating some extraordinary cast clear optical glass sculptures. "Silver Cave" was just finished and polished in the past few days and is an outstanding example of this series of work. A video clip (Click Here To View) of this piece and others in the series are available.

Iris Droplet

by Nancy Callan

Seattle based Nancy Callan has long been one of my favorite glass artists. Here is a stunning new piece which Nancy recently finished in her Droplet series. As always, the dynamic form and the colorful palette make this piece exceptional.

Iris Droplet by Nancy Callan, 15 x 15 x 19.5″

Torso V by Latchezar Boyadjiev, 4 x 12 x 18″

Torso V
by Latchezar Boyadjiev

California artist Latchezar Boyadjiev is well known for his large scale cast glass sculptures. Many of his pieces are figurative though some more abstractly so than others. Today’s featured piece fits into that category although it is clearly an abstraction of the female form.

Aquilone
by Lino Tagliapietra

One of my favorite series by the Maestro are his Aquilone pieces. This month’s featured piece from that series is quite simple in form but striking both in its vibrant palette and its sophisticated employment of the murrine technique.

Aquilone by Lino Tagliapietra, 7.25 x 15.25 x 15.25"

Untitled by David Schwarz, 18.5″ high x 13.5″ diameter

Untitled
by David Schwarz

Washington artist David Schwarz is well known for his blown and etched pieces. This one encapsulates all of the elements of his best work with its intricate surface carving, faceting and coloration.
